Wholemeal Bread

Try making your own wholemeal bread using Tesco Bread Maker

Ingredients in order:

  • 260ml water
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 4 tsp. fine salt
  • 1 cup / 110g whole wheat l flour
  • 2 cups / 280g bread flour
  • 2 Tbsp. soft brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. milk powder
  • ½ tsp. yeast

Method:

  1. Lightly brush oil onto kneading blade and drive shaft. 
  2. Then insert the kneading blade onto the drive shaft.
  3. Place pan in position and turn it clockwise until it clicks in correct position.
  4. Put in ingredients in order from top of the list of ingredients to the bottom (it’s important to follow this step).
  5. Close the lid and turn on plug. 
  6. Press the MENU button until 3 (Whole wheat bread). 
  7. Press the COLOR button to select the desired crust color.
  8. Press the LOAF button to select the desired size- 2 lb.
  9. Press start and let the bread maker do the baking.
  10. The machine will beep when bread is done. Press stop button. Open lid and lift bread pan handle with oven gloves, turn the pan anticlockwise and gently pull the pan straight up and out of the machine.
  11. Loosen the side of the bread with a non-stick spatula and turn bread pan upside down onto a clean wooden board. Leave bread to stand for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
