Supporting the arts during the pandemic

We’re so excited to share that the Finance Minister himself, YB Tengku Zafrul visited our Lotus’s Cheras store on 7 August 2021. His visit is part of the Ministry of Finance (MoF)’s community outreach where he handover a total of RM86,000 Lotus’s vouchers to support an initiative started through a collaboration between Yayasan Sime Darby and the Cultural Economy Development Agency (CENDANA).

The initiative, Program Bantuan Makanan, was kickstarted last year to help Malaysian art organizations, artists, and performers who were negatively impacted by the pandemic. Successful applicants to the programme receive RM160 Lotus’s Vouchers (single) and RM220 Lotus’s Vouchers (married).

This initiative is supported by the MoF, as part of the government's Perlindungan Ekonomi dan Rakyat Malaysia (PERMAI) assistance package, coordinated by Yayasan Hasanah through the GLC/GLIC Disaster Response Network (GDRN).
