We’re very pleased to share that a total of 100 asnaf (underprivileged) families have benefitted from Lotus’s Ramadan and Raya corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
The asnaf families have all received RM600 worth of aid, with the first RM300 in the form of household goods contributed through our internal CSR, the Kiriman Ikhlas Raya (KIR) and the remaining RM300 in the form of vouchers through the partner and customer-supported CSR initiative called the Tabung Kiriman Ikhlas (TKI).
For the KIR initiative, we teamed up with the Majlis Agama Islam for Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory, Kelantan and Johor; and Lembaga Zakat Selangor and Kedah, for the distribution of the RM30,000 Zakat Wakalah contributed by Lotus’s colleagues.
Meanwhile, the TKI initiative was able to raise an additional RM30,000 for the same asnaf families ahead of its 2 June 2021 deadline. With every purchase of at least RM18 of All Kurma Sdn Bhd products, RM1 was channelled to the TKI. All Kurma product ranges include Siafa, Mahadhi, al-Hisham, Masafii, Date Crown and Springdale Cottage.
“We’re very pleased to be able to help the asnaf community this Ramadan and just in time for Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration. We know that many have been economically impacted because of the Covid-19 pandemic, and we hope that our combined contribution of RM600 will help bring relief and joy to these families,” said our Head of Communications and CSR, Hanim Hamdan.
