At Tesco, we believe that ‘Every Little Helps’, even much so during a time of need.
Our Tesco Kajang Team, led by Store General Manager, Muhammad Hafiz Gopalakrishnan had gone above and beyond to help four colleagues from the store who were affected by the heavy floods that hit Selangor in Bangi, Kajang, and Hulu Langat in mid-July 2020. According to local media, the five-feet-deep flood has also been described as the worst in the last five years in Kajang.
Our Tesco Kajang colleagues, unfortunately, were not spared from the floods and had to tragically witnessed their homes being destroyed during the natural disaster. Learning this, Hafiz alongside the Tesco Corporate Social Responsibility Team arranged aid for the affected colleagues and was able to supply gas stoves, fresh food items, Tesco Own Brand essential grocery items, and electrical kettles. Aside from that, Hafiz and nine Kajang colleagues helped cleaned and rebuild the affected colleagues' homes.
We commend the Kajang Team for their compassion and kindness in helping colleagues in need.
