Tesco, in collaboration with the Federal Territories Ministry, has employed several homeless individuals in our supply chain as part of a programme initiated by the Federal Territories Ministry to give these individuals a fresh start at life. Other companies that are also part of this programme are Adabi Consumer Industries Sdn Bhd, Hartalega NGC Sdn Bhd, Harumi Brands Sdn Bhd and Jaya Supermarket.
Federal Territories Minister Annuar Musa said that over a hundred homeless people will be placed in these companies where they can earn minimum wage jobs under a post-movement control order initiative. On our part, we have identified nine of these individuals and they will be joining us in our Distribution Centres as soon as possible.
