Pasta Sayur ‘Sayang Si Manja’ Azlin

Azlin, a young mother finds the perfect way to get her young child to eat vegetables - by preparing a smiley face Fusilli Pasta with fresh, colourful vegetables.


* Recipe makes approximately 2 servings

  • 200g Tesco Tricolore Fusilli Pasta 500g
  • 1 Carrot
  • 1 Tesco Eat Fresh Timun Kyuri Jepun 3pcs
  • 1 Tesco Eat Fresh Lada Besar 3 Warna (3 Colour Capsicums) 300g
  • 1 Broccoli
  • 50g Tesco Eat Fresh Cherry Tomatoes
  • 1 Egg (hard boiled)

Pasta Sauce

  • Half bottle Tesco Chunky Vegetable Pasta Sauce 500g
  • 2 tsp Tesco Olive Oil 1L
  • 2 Garlic cloves (crushed)
  • ½ tsp Tesco Oregano

  1. Cook Tesco Tricolour Fusilli Pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water, stirring occasionally until al dente or almost fully cooked. Drain and transfer to a large bowl.
  2. Meanwhile, heat olive oil in saucepan over medium-high heat. Add crushed garlic & half bottle of Tesco Chunky Veg Pasta Sauce (or according to preference). Cook, stirring occasionally, until pasta sauce goes to boil, approximately 6–8 minutes.
  3. Toss fusilli pasta with the cooked pasta sauce and sprinkle Tesco Oregano on top.
  4. Make thin slices of egg (with yolk).
  5. Using assorted cute baking cutters, cut shapes out of carrots & capsicums.
  6. Using knife, make desirable shapes out other vegetables like cucumber & cherry tomatoes.
  7. On a plate, place the fusilli pasta coated with pasta sauce carefully onto your desired design.
  8. Then, arrange the cute vegetable shapes on the plate creatively.
