Daniel’s ‘Impress You’ Salted Egg Pasta

Daniel is usually busy at work. Even with his limited cooking experience, tries to make their 1 year anniversary an impressive one for the girlfriend by whipping up his simple yet yummy pasta with salted egg and mushroom, a favorite of his girlfriend.

Ingredient A:

  • 3 Salted Egg Yolk
  • 200g Tesco Spaghetti
  • Water
  • Salt & Olive Oil

Ingredient B:

  • 30g Unsalted Butter
  • 20g Chopped Garlic
  • 3g Curry Leaves
  • 3-4 Dried Chili 
  • 30g Bunapi Mushrooms
  • 30g Bunashimeji Mushrooms
  • 30g Grey Oyster Mushrooms
  • 30ml Pasta water (adjust according to personal preference level)
  • 60ml Cooking Cream
  • 5g Chicken Granules
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • 1g Chives, finely chopped or Tesco Freeze dried Chives


    1. Separate salted egg yolk from white. Steam for 10 mins and mash the yolk. Keep aside.
    2. Boil spaghetti in salted water for 12 minutes and drained. Keep water for cooking.
    3. Melt butter, add in salted egg yolk. Allow to bubble.
    4. Add in chopped garlic, curry leaves and dried chili.
    5. Stir in assorted mushrooms.
    6. Add pasta water and cooking cream. 
    7. Add in spaghetti. Season with salt, pepper and chicken granules. 
    8. Garnish with chopped chives and serve.
