Angie’s ‘Smile Again’ Prawn Salsa

Even though Hannah didn’t win at her school’s badminton meet, Angie is proud of her daughter for doing her best. To turn her frown upside down, Angie prepares her daughter’s all-time favourite Prawn Salsa mixed with avocado, her current obsession.



  • 8 Large Prawns 
  • 1 tsp Tesco Olive Oil 1L
  • 1 tsp Tesco Cajun Seasoning 45g
  • A dash of Garlic Powder
  • Salt to Taste


  • 10 Cherry Tomatoes, quartered (Tesco Eat Fresh Tomato Ceri Merah 275g)
  • 1 Red Onion (40g), diced (Tesco Eat Fresh Bawang Merah)
  • 1 Small Red Pepper (70g), diced (Tesco Eat Fresh Lada Besar 3 Warna 300g)
  • 1 1/2 Avocado, diced (Avocado Hass L (Australia)
  • Coriander (6g), finely chopped (Tesco Coriander Leaf 16g)
  • 1 Sprig of Fresh Dill (Tesco Eat Fresh Dill 10g)

Salsa Seasonings:

  • Juice of 1 Lime (3 tbsp)
  • 1 tbsp of Olive Oil
  • Dash of Salt and Ground Black Pepper
  • Sugar to taste


  1. Peel and clean prawns. Marinate prawns for at least 2 hours.
  2. Quarter the cherry tomatoes. Dice red onion and red pepper. Chop coriander.
  3. Halve avocadoes. Then scoop out and dice the flesh.
  4. Mix ingredients with the salsa seasonings, and add in fresh dill. 
  5. Place the finished salsa into 3 avocado shells. Keep in refrigerator. 
  6. Lightly pan fry prawns with olive oil for about 4-5 mins until the prawns turn red.
  7. Plate and serve prawns with avocado salsa.
