Tesco Delivers Groceries Right To Your Doorstep
PETALING JAYA, Tuesday, 2 April 2013
- Braving through Kuala Lumpur’s traffic from work is tough enough, without the added hassle of having to do grocery shopping at the end of a long day. Today at Mutiara Damansara, Tesco revealed a new solution, by introducing its Grocery Home Shopping service.
Tesco’s Grocery Home Shopping is the first of its kind in Malaysia by a hypermarket operator and represents a major step forward by the retailer in an effort to bring greater convenience to its customers.
Georg Fischer, Tesco Malaysia’s Chief Executive Officer, said, “The launch of Tesco Grocery Home Shopping is an important step for us as we strive to look for ways to serve our customers better. We know that customers now are hard pressed for time with the busy lives they lead. So instead of having to come to the store, we bring the store to them.”
Ordering grocery online is made simple by Tesco as customers can now place their shop online through Tesco’s website http://eshop.tesco.com.my/
Customer then selects their products for delivery and when they would like to have their order delivered to their home thus giving them more time to spend with their families at home.
Fischer also outlined several benefits that customers stand to gain through shopping online with Tesco.
“There is no minimum order or maximum order. Through shopping with GHS, customers can stick to their budgets with no surprises at the checkout because they can see a running total of their spend on the screen as they shop.
Apart from that, our personal shoppers are trained to pick the freshest products so you can trust our trained personal shoppers to choose your fresh produce just as you would,” said Fischer.
Fischer added that customers will be able to enjoy the same great prices and promotions that they would get in store and can still earn Clubcard points on their total purchase online.
Fischer further adds, “Providing convenience to customers for their shopping is really a great reward. It’s relevant to customers because you can save time and still get huge savings on the things you really need to buy, such as groceries or anything that you might want.
“Listening to our customers has led us to the launch of Grocery Home Shopping. We believe that customers will love our new service and will find that it is very rewarding by shopping with Tesco.”
According to Fischer, with the launch of Grocery Home Shopping at Mutiara Damansara, customers in Petaling Jaya, Mont Kiara, Sri Hartamas, Bangsar, Kepong, Sungai Buloh and Segambut would be able to have their groceries delivered to them. The service will be made available in Klang Valley in coming months.
“We have plans to invest toward expanding the service to other parts of the country soon,” said Fischer.
